DEADBEAT SUPERHEROES (DBS) TEAMS UP WITH HORNETS! TO RELEASE A REDUXED VERSION OF ITS EDMONTON EP
Canadian musical outfit, Deadbeat Superheroes is extremely proud to have artist HORNETS! remix their Edmonton EP, which was released earlier this year to awesome reviews and international airplay.
Edmonton, originally produced by veteran engineer Marek David, has taken on a whole new life under the vision of HORNETS!
HORNETS! is a collaboration between the awkwardness of a mid life crisis and a laptop.
Deadbeat Superheroes is about to enter into its 13th year of existence in early 2024.
The tracks and release dates for Edmonton (Reduxed) are:
“Shangri-La (redux)”
“Blind Luminescence (redux)”
“Silo (redux)”
“Silo MK2 (redux)”
“By The Side Of The Road (redux)”
This outing takes Deadbeat Superheroes out to a musical landscape that embarks on a quest of further discovery through the vision of HORNETS! As with the original release, each track stands firmly on its own.
The EP was mastered by Peter Letros at Wreckhouse Mastering (Toronto, ON).

DEADBEAT SUPERHEROES (DBS) RELEASES ITS FOURTH EP. EDMONTON
Canadian musical outfit, Deadbeat Superheroes, has released it’s fourth EP, titled Edmonton; it is available on all music streaming platforms effectively immediately.
The 12-year-old band, which formed in Toronto, worked with veteran producer Marek David (Queens of the Stone Age, Dr. Dre, Sheryl Crow) to Arrange, Engineer, and Produce Edmonton, a collection of four songs (all written by Deadbeat Superheroes):
- “Shangri-La” (4:12)
- “Blind Luminescence” (3:46)
- “Silo” (3:30)
- “By The Side Of The Road” (3:54)
This is the first DBS recording to feature new vocalist, Julie Sun Lee, who has performed with the band on violin for the past seven years.
Julie Sun Lee is a virtuoso violinist, singer, and songwriter in her own right, and has worked with DBS bandleader, Vikas Sharma over the past 16 years in DBS and other projects.
This outing takes Deadbeat Superheroes back to a strong, 80’s-inspired sound with everything from the Brian Eno-tinged delayed guitars in “By The Side Of The Road,” or the Nile Rogers-esque compressed beats and production on “Blind Luminescence,” all the way to the synth-heavy pop sound that dominated the airwaves in 1987 in “Shangri-la.”
Each track stands firmly on its own.
Everyone who performed on the Edmonton EP is excited about its release and are all super-proud of their performances on the record. The EP was mastered by Peter Letros at Wreckhouse Mastering (Toronto, ON).
We invite you to indulge in the Edmonton EP and look forward to hearing from you regarding airplay and/or interviews.
